How to close a Specific Tab in a Browser

There is a new Tab that opens up from a Parent Web Page, need to close the newly opened  Tab. Tried using Close Window by Title of the Tab, but it closes the entire Browser including the Parent Web Page.  Need inputs on how to close the Tab in a Browser. Using Chrome Browser.

Hello Smitha,

In order to close a "pop-up" tab, or any tab for that matter, on a browser, we first need to have that tab stored in a browser instance variable.

This can be done in two ways.

1. If the tab was created by us, then it is already stored in a variable from the action that created it.

2. If it is a "pop-up" tab, then we first need to attach to it by using the launch action for the appropriate browser, and choosing the "Attach to running..." option for the Operation.

Once we have the tab stored in a browser instance variable, we can use the action "Close Web Browser" to close just the tab that we want.
