In order to test the performance of Autologin in WinAutomation, proceed as below:

  • Navigate to "Options -> Settings -> Authentication" in the WinAutomation Console and provide your Windows password.
  • Create a new Process and in the Process Designer, insert a "Display Message" Action.
  • Save and close the Process Designer.
  • Modify the Run Policy of the Process as shown below:
  • Associate a Schedule with the Process via the "Scheduler" tab, in order to schedule the Process to run in a little bit.
  • Before the Schedule fires, lock the machine and test if the Autologin is going to be performed successfully.
  • Perform the same verification by using the "Sign out" option (instead of "lock").


In order to test the performance of Autologin in ProcessRobot, proceed as below:

  • Launch Process Studio.
  • Create a new Process and in the Process Designer, insert a "Display Message" Action.
  • Save and close the Process Designer.
  • In Process Studio, press the "Set For Review" button.
  • Launch Control Desk.
  • In the "Processes" tab, locate the Process and press the "Move to Production" button.
  • Associate a Schedule with the Process via the "Scheduler" tab, in order to schedule the Process to run in a little bit.
  • Set the Schedule's "Execution Target" to the desired SoloBot - the one that you want to perform the autologin.
  • Before the Schedule fires, lock the machine and test if Autologin is going to be performed successfully.
  • Perform the same verification by using the "Sign out" option (instead of "lock").



Notes

  • If autologin does not work when the workstation is locked, then most probably the windows password is wrong.
  • If the password is correct and autologin is still not working, then there may be a Windows message or popup that does not allow the Robot to log in. In order to investigate further this possibility, we need to be able to actually see the windows login screen, while the Robot is trying to log in. The screen that we are looking for is the following:


If you normally log in to the machine through RDP and you never see the above screen, then you may follow one of the two solutions proposed below to access it:

  1. Get access to the machine that hosts the Hypervisor of the VM. Through the Hypervisor, one can log in to a VM without the need to do an RDP. In this way, you can access the above screen.
  2. Install TeamViewer in the target machine (the machine where the Robot is working). Using TeamViewer, we should be in place to see the above screen. In order for this option to work, we need to adjust the following settings in TeamViewer:
    1. enable the Unattended Access
    2. enable the Grant easy access
